Voilà un album qui fait beaucoup de vagues sur Internet. J'ai peu d'informations sur DigitalSimplyWorld. C'est le projet d'un artiste Polonais qui reste assez discret et qui a produit plus ou moins 4 albums sur Internet depuis 2011 ou 2012. “The City Dark Synth” est un audacieux projet musical qui s'inspire de la seconde portion de Blade Runner, où Decker et Rachel sont à la recherche d'un élixir pour empêcher les expirations de leur vie. Et, autant vous le dire d'emblée, même si son concepteur se targue de vouloir faire un clin d'œil à Vangelis, il vise plutôt les sinistres ambiances du film culte de Ridley Scott en ciblant les atmosphères lugubres d'une civilisation sur respirateur artificiel. De puissants clairons d'un synthé nasillard ouvrent les premières secondes "The City Dark Synth". Dès les premiers souffles de synthé, l'auditeur est plongé dans un univers obscur où rôde une odeur de dévastation. Des pulsations viennent supporter cette intense ambiance lugubre et dessinent un hypnotique rythme pulsatoire dont les fines variances sont étouffées par la force des strates d'un synthé aux souffles apocalyptiques. La pluie s'installe et chasse le rythme alors que nous sillonnons les quartiers industriels de "The City Dark Synth". La principale force de “The City Dark Synth” est cette puissante ambiance qui entoure l'histoire où nous avons réellement l'impression d'être dans un état policier. Le rythme est assez discret, sinon quasiment absent, mais les ambiances et effets sonores sont intensément enveloppants, surtout avec un casque d'écoute. La pluie, les murmures, les pas errants et la vie vidée de son enveloppe spirituelle sont tangibles et sont cernés par des brises métalliques et ces clairons qui semblent sortir des véhicules volants des forces constabulaires. DigitalSimplyWorld joue avec ses ambiances, mêlant désespoir et espoir dans une enveloppe musicale à la limite de la hantise. La 2ième portion offre une courte structure de rythme, comme une course haletante où nos deux héros obscurs semblent avoir trouvé ce qu'ils recherchaient. Mais encore là, les sombres ambiances qui recouvrent un bref moment d'accalmie nous laissent penser le contraire. Un peu comme dans le film quoi! “The City Dark Synth” de DigitalSimplyWorld est une expérience sonique qui laisse une empreinte indélébile dans l'oreille. Le synthésiste Polonais réussi vraiment à créer une atmosphère surréaliste qui épouse à merveilles les visions futuriste d'un film culte. C'est intensément ambiosphérique avec une lourde teinte industrielle qui va plaire aux amateurs d'ambiances claustrophobiques. Ça vaut le coup! (dimanche 13 octobre 2013)

Here is an album which kicks up a fuss on the Internet. I haven't so much information about DigitalSimplyWorld. It's seem to be a musical project out of Poland from an artist who remains rather discreet and who produced something like 3 or 4 albums on the Internet since 2011 or 2012. “The City Dark Synth” is an audacious musical project which is inspired by the second portion of Blade Runner, where Decker and Rachel are in search of an elixir to prevent the expirations of their life. And, so much to say it straightaway, even if his designer boasts of wanting to give a wink to Vangelis, he aims rather at the sinister atmospheres of Ridley Scott's cult movie of by targeting the lugubrious ambiences of a civilization connected up on artificial breathing apparatus.
Powerful clarions of a nasal synth open the first seconds "The City Dark Synth". From the first breaths of synth, the listener is dive into a dark universe where wanders a scent of devastation. Pulsations come to bear this intense lugubrious mood and draw a hypnotic pulsating rhythm of which the fine variances are smothered by the strength of the synth strata and of their apocalyptic breaths. The rain settles down and chases away the rhythm while we cross the industrial districts of "The City Dark Synth". The main strength of “The City Dark Synth” is this powerful atmosphere which surrounds the story where we really have the impression to be in a police state. The rhythm is otherwise rather discreet, almost absent, but the atmospheres and the sound effects are intensely wrapping, especially with headphones. The rain, the rustles, the wandering steps and the life emptied of its spiritual envelope are tangible and are encircled by the metallic breezes and these clarions which seem to howl from these flying cars from the constabulary strengths. DigitalSimplyWorld plays with his moods, mixing despair and hope in a musical envelope on the verge of obsessive fear. The 2nd portion offers a short structure of rhythm, as a breathless running where our two dark heroes seem to have found what they looked for. But still there, the somber atmospheres which envelop this brief moment of calm let us think of the opposite. A little as in the movie! Nope?
“The City Dark Synth” from DigitalSimplyWorld is a sonic experiment that leaves an indelible imprint in the ear. The unknown Polish synthman succeed in creating a surrealist atmosphere which marries with wonder the futuristic visions of a cult movie. It's intensely ambiospheric with a heavy industrial tint which is going to appeal to fans of claustrophobic atmospheres. It's worth the try!

"Co oznacza być człowiekiem?" to w moim odczuciu jedno z najważniejszych pytań jakie zadawał film "Blade Runner". W dobie dezinformacji na temat scenariusza sequelu tego dzieła, warto posłuchać albumu "The City Dark Synth" projektu DigitalSimplyWorld, który może być wariantem tej historii.

Żadna myśląca istota nie przyjmie daty swojej śmierci na spokojnie i bez sprzeciwu. Nawet android wyposażony w ludzkie instynkty (a więc i ten bardzo silny samozachowawczy). "...Rick i Rachael (a jednak są androidami!) w poszukiwaniu "leku" na swoją wygasającą polisę na życie, kierują się do miasta Dark Synth". Tak zaczyna się nowa historia. I choć najważniejsze w niej wydaje się rzeczone Dark Synth, to pytanie o sens bycia człowiekiem kłuje w oczy z każdej brudnej ściany i zatęchłego zaułka tego miejsca.

DigitalSimplyWorld nie serwuje muzyki dramatycznej w wyrazie, lecz jakby ujętą w obrazach. Tu muzyczna architektonika zasadza się na pracy tematycznej i szeregowaniu wiążących się ze sobą motywów. Zarówno tematy jak i motywy traktowane są formotwórczo i mają często charakter imitacyjny. Mimo słyszalnych nawiązań do twórczości Vangelisa, nie są to jednak motywy inspirowane oryginalną ścieżką dźwiękową "Blade Runnera". I bardzo dobrze! Doświadczenie DigitalSimplyWorld zdobyte na poprzednich albumach procentuje interesującą formą, o nieznacznej wariacyjności charakterystycznych motywów, które powtarzane zawsze są jednak zmienione przez różne sposoby figuracji. Można ubolewać, że rzadko na pierwszy plan wysuwa się melodia, jednak jeśli już to staje się istotnym elementem formy. Jest jakby żałobnym akordem człowieczeństwa w zautomatyzowanym ponurym mieście.

DigitalSimplyWorld znakomicie oddaje atmosferę miasta zagubionych (nie)ludzi i dziwnych zakamarków - w moim wyobrażeniu nie pozbawioną noirowego ducha. Dark Synth to miasto cieni, zepsucie i wiecznego deszczu, miejsce gdzie nic nie jest jednoznaczne. To jednocześnie miasto nadziei... zwykle złudnej. Z muzyki DigitalSimplyWorld wyłania się smutna refleksja, czy warto być człowiekiem w takim miejscu jak Dark Synth? - miejscu, które wcale nie musi być miastem przyszłości.
